Description du poste
I am currently looking for a Purchasing & Contract Manager on behalf of my client, a company specializing in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and EV charging infrastructure development, with more than 15 years of experience in the energy sector.
This is a permanent position based in Paris.
Context & Challenges of the Position
You will join the Product Department, which covers Engineering & Product Development, Project Management Office, and Supply Chain & Quality.
This is a newly created position. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain & Quality Director, your main responsibility will be to structure and formalize the company's procurement function: implementing purchasing processes, standards, framework agreements, contractual governance, and legal safeguards - all the foundations required to progressively build a structured procurement organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead tendering processes, supplier selection (RFQs/RFPs), and contract negotiations for equipment (battery cells, modules, BMS, inverters, power electronics, and related equipment) as well as services (EPC, O&M, transportation, etc.) in order to secure optimal commercial terms (pricing, delivery, warranty, payment conditions, logistics, etc.).
• Build and maintain strong relationships with EPCs, OEMs, and technology providers.
• Manage framework agreements in close collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Operations teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Legal, Quality & Technical Support, and Country Project Delivery teams to align technical and commercial requirements.
• Monitor global supply chain risks, including geopolitical and raw material risks (lithium, nickel, cobalt, etc.), as well as market dynamics and cost trends within the energy storage sector.
• Conduct market analysis and maintain strategic supplier databases.
• Evaluate and monitor supplier performance based on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Sustainability (QCDS) criteria, notably through supplier audits and performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, industry standards (REACH, RoHS, ISO 9001/14001, etc.), and ESG commitments.
• Resolve supplier claims and contractual disputes.
• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, with a focus on supplier performance and cost optimization.

Technical Skills:
• Strong international experience covering the full procurement and contract management cycle, including procurement strategy formalization, SRM, sourcing, negotiation, claims management, variations, and cost control.
• Good understanding of energy infrastructure projects, BESS technologies, and/or renewable energy projects.
