Description du poste

**Job Description:**

Airbus UpNext is looking for a Quality Manager to support the implementation of the 5G NR-NTN (New Radio Non-Terrestrial-Network) system, aiming to test 5G communications via a payload in space.

Our first objective is to support the strategic ambitions of Airbus, by exploring new technologies, which means in the case of our demonstrator, incubating one 5G NR-NTN overall system, identifying the drivers and best technical solutions of such a system.

We have to adapt processes so as to be able to tackle financial and programmatic constraints relative to our demonstrator that ends in June 2028.

We have to adopt some unconventional ways of working, and we have to be agile considering changes/alea that may occur in this R&T challenging context.

In that context we are looking for an experienced and operational quality manager, able to put things in perspective, to focus on main risks, and propose adequate mitigation actionable actions.

We have to be able to prevent ourselves from already-known problems encountered during space segment development, during storage/handling of flight units, integration of the payload or during in-flight operations. The quality manager shall also manage the anomalies that will be raised during the integration of the payload or at subcontractors level.

In parallel to the development of the space segment, we set-up and integrate an emulated 5G NR-NTN communication chain that also requires quality rules to be defined and followed-up in close collaboration with mission software and IVV teams. In particular, the configuration management is key considering the several software solutions tested on our testbed.

The quality manager for our demo will thus work closely with the space segment, mission software and IVV teams and we collaborate with industrial partners around the world.

*This position based in Toulouse, comes with a limited contract (CDI-C CDI de Chantier) starting asap, and linked to the deliverable of the demonstrator (estimated date end of june 2028)*

*Mission:*

Willing to "make it happen" by finding pragmatic responses to prevent main risks, you will:

* Manage Risks and Opportunity portfolio

* Propose safe ways of working for operations on the testbed, to handle materials, store/handle engineering and flight units

* Propose adapted processes for the integration of the payload, follow-up of AIT preparation and operations

* Manage anomalies at Airbus UpNext level, and support anomaly reviews at subcontractor level

* Support IVV main reviews/check points, check that the objectives/success criteria of the tests are well defined, that the configuration of the documentation and the system tested is detailed, that the test results are well documented

* Support day-to-day configuration management of the testbed (including mission software)

* Preparation of demo operations, by analysing specific risks

*Your Boarding Pass:*

What you bring:

* Operational experience and knowledge in quality management in satellite integration and tests.

* Operational experience and knowledge about main anomalies encountered during the development of space equipment.

* Knowledge of software configuration management would be a plus.

* Willingness to explore new ways of working while keeping the essence of the quality manager role.
