**Job Description:**
*Airbus Commercial Aircraft* is looking for a *Maintenance & Connectivity Airworthiness Engineer (M/F)* to join our *Electrics & Avionics Certification department* based in *Toulouse, France.*
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Airworthiness Engineer to lead and manage the certification activities for our Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), Aircraft Data Communication Network (ADCN), Centralized Maintenance Systems (CMS) and Connectivity systems and functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that, for the complex changes and /or projects he/ she is in charge of, systems (ATA 31/42/45/46) and functions (e.g. Aircraft Data Collection, Predictive Maintenance, ...) achieve a timely airworthiness approval from relevant airworthiness authorities, such as EASA and FAA. This position also holds a significant strategic responsibility for shaping the future regulatory environment. The role will be instrumental in representing and defending Airbus position during critical rule-making activities with global authorities and industry partners. This external advocacy is directly linked to our internal innovation pipeline; a key objective is to proactively prepare and define the certification framework for forthcoming programs and novel technologies (eg: Shared Resources and Future Maintenance), ensuring Airbus can efficiently certify and deliver the next generation of aircraft.
This role provides a deep understanding of aviation regulations, good knowledge of IMA/ADCN/CMS/Connectivity technical perimeter, strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate & negotiate effectively with cross-functional internal teams and external regulatory bodies.

*Your challenges : *
* Certification Strategy & Planning : Develop, implement, and manage the overall certification strategy and plans for the complex changes and /or projects he/ she is in charge of, in alignment with business objectives.
* Regulatory Liaison : Serve as the primary point of contact with aviation authorities (EASA, FAA, etc.). Prepare for and lead technical meetings, audits, and formal reviews required to demonstrate compliance.
* Compliance Management : Ensure all systems and equipment strictly adhere to applicable airworthiness requirements (e.g. CS25), industry standards (e.g. DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, ARP4754), and specific certification requirements (Certification Review Items, Issue Papers, ...).
* Documentation & Deliverables : Oversee the creation, review, and approval of all certification-related documentation, including certification plans, compliance checklists, test reports, and analysis documents.
* Cross-functional Coordination : Collaborate closely with internal teams - including systems design, software/hardware development, safety, security, and quality assurance, configuration management and programs - to ensure certification requirements are understood and integrated throughout the entire development lifecycle.
* Risk Management : Proactively identify certification risks, develop mitigation plans, and manage issues that may impact project schedule or compliance.
* Process Improvement : Lead certification processes and methodologies improvements to enhance efficiency and ensure the highest level of compliance and safety.
* Future-Proofing & Innovation : Actively monitor and lead rulemaking activities for upcoming changes in global aviation regulations and emerging technologies (e.g. Skywise, 5G, Future Maintenance, AI/ML applications). Develop and champion strategies to ensure future products are designed for forward compatibility and certification readiness and ensure Airbus design compliance with future regulatory changes.
*Your boarding pass : *
* Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the aviation industry.
* Significant experience in systems design, development, integration or safety, ideally for IMA, ADCN, CMS or Connectivity systems or functions with a good understanding of the associated development and certification process.
* A prior role in certification or airworthiness is a strong asset, but not a prerequisite for candidates with a good systems development or safety experience.
* Good background in key industry standards: ARP4754 (Systems Development), ARP4761 (Safety Assessment), DO-178 (Software), and DO-254 (Hardware).
* Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
* Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
* Demonstrates a positive and solution-oriented mindset when faced with deadlines.
