Airbus UpNext - Network Operation Center Software engineer (m/f) AIRBUS

**Job Description:**

Airbus UpNext is looking for a 5G Ground Mission Software engineer to support the definition and implementation of 5G Non-Terrestrial-Network capabilities based on space platforms.

Our objective is to explore many new technologies and to support the strategic ambitions of Airbus. As such, be prepared for a wild ride, digging into unconventional ways of working, and be ready for many pivots throughout, as we will explore the unknown.

As the Network Operation Center Software engineer, you are responsible for the development of the end-to-end system controller and monitoring solutions.

This position is based in Toulouse, and we will collaborate with teams across Europe and an international partnership landscape.

This job comes with a limited contract (CDI-C) linked to the deliverable of the demonstrator (estimated end date July 2028).

By being the Network Operation Center (NOC) software engineer, you will:


* Lead the development of the technical solutions to control, configure and monitor the end-to-end system including network, ground components, satellite payload and mission software;

* Contribute to the Integration and Validation phases of a 5G NTN solution;

* Detail the NOC software architecture solutions from functional needs;

* Be a member of a (true) agile team and implement CI/CD ways of working (to be);

What you bring:


* Strong experience in software development (Python, Bash or similar);

* Proven experience in monitoring, administrating and hardening Linux-based servers and services;

* Understanding of network management protocols for monitoring and telemetry (SNMP, gRPC, netconf, or gnmi), TCP/IP network operation, monitoring and troubleshooting;

* Experience in database, metrics collection, time-series data management, and alarm/event handling (e.g. InfluxDB, Prometheus ), automation frameworks (e.g., Robot framework, Ansible) and with troubleshooting network monitoring tools like Wireshark

* Previous experience in telecommunications, ISPs, or network operations environments;

* Exposure to other monitoring tools (e.g., ELK stack, Zabbix, Nagios);

* Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab CI);

* Hands-on experience with Grafana for monitoring and visualization;

* Power to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working;

* Hands-on and solution oriented attitude;
