**Job Description:**

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Aircraft Performance Engineer for On-Board applications as APPSM (Approach Stabilization Monitor) and for FMS (Flight Management System) generation tools BPL (Business Product Leader) (f/m) - based in Toulouse, France.

* Description of the job *

Aircraft Performance is at the heart of our Aeronautic industry. It is one of the key criteria for an airline to decide to buy an aircraft. Performance is involved from the design phase to the end of aircraft life.

The On-Board Performance applications team takes Aircraft Performance into the cockpit !

We are responsible for developing, generating and delivering aircraft performance models and algorithms that will be used by flight crews when they are operating the aircraft. Furthermore, we are analysing In-Service Flight Data to better understand flight operations, to evaluate how our On-Board functions are working and to propose functions enhancement.

On-Board Performance Applications team is looking for a focal point for APPSM (Approach Stabilization Monitor) and for FMS generation tools BPL (Business Product Leader).

The APPSM function is designed for triggering crew alertness in case of high energy in approach phase. APPSM is still under development. This function is a great asset in safety enhancement.

The BPL role consists in providing the strategic vision of FMS generation tools development (for all aircraft programs), in specifying the needs, in liaising with the developers and in validating the new tools versions.

The position scope may evolve, and be tuned to other functions, such as FMS functions (Flight Management System), ROPS (Runway Overrun Prevention System), etc

* Main examples of tasks and responsibilities are: *

APPSM focal point:

* APPSM Aircraft performance model development

* Generation of APPSM model (Long Range)

* Entry into Service support (In-Service data analysis)

* Laboratory tests (V&V) : Lab Test Request definition, follow-up of simulator sessions and analysis of results

* Support to Certification



Business Product Leader role:

* To provide development strategic vision for FMS model generation tools

* To liaise with FMS Process Leader and retrieve operational needs

* To specify operational needs to developers

* To validate new tools versions



This mission implies close collaboration with other teams such as Low Speed performance specialists, Functions and Systems, Test teams (lab and flight), Customer Support...

* Required skills *


* Engineering oriented in Aeronautics or related discipline

* Knowledge of Flight and Cockpit Operations and Aircraft flight physics,
Competences in IT (scripting, data science) and surrogate modeling is a plus

* You are open minded with a focus on team spirit and collaboration.

* You have demonstrated proactivity, adaptability and good communication skills.

* Advanced level in French and English is required.
