**Job Description:**

As part of the *Airbus Helicopters Design Office*, you will join the* 'Data & HUMS (Health and Usage Monitoring System)' department*. Composed of approximately thirty people located at the Marignane site (near Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France), this department is responsible for:

* Defining and certifying the monitoring systems (Health and Usage) for all helicopters in the Airbus range

* Collecting and managing data recorded during flights operated by the Flight Test teams or by customers

* Analyzing the collected data to anticipate events and improve the safety, availability, maintenance, and performance of our aircrafts


You will join the *UMS (Usage Monitoring System) team where you will be responsible for the deployment of new functionalities to ensure vehicle monitoring and engine monitoring, helicopter availability, helicopter airworthiness, and performance of helicopters.*

Your responsibilities:

You will be health function responsible for given helicopter(s) range presenting specific technical challenges (example: new development, major upgrade):

* You will actively participate in building and maintaining the business development logic for the UMS function and ensure its implementation.

* You will be responsible for collecting monitoring requirements and developing the list of data to be recorded, as required by regulations and vehicle systems managers, and ensuring its reliability.

* You will ensure the implementation of these requirements in accordance with the Airbus Helicopters avionics systems certification process. You will verify that the functional chain meets end-to-end requirements (End 2 End).

* You will specify and produce certification documents for the implementation of the UMS function on the helicopter(s) in service to which you are assigned.

* You will develop the usage function (performance, scope) by proposing relevant and innovative improvements and bring together the various stakeholders in the design office (SDR, etc.) to obtain the buy in of your proposals.

* You will support the Airbus Helicopters teams (Customer Support & Services, Major Incident Analysis, Serial Acceptance, etc.) in the event of technical events on the helicopter(s) to which you are assigned.

* Interfacing directly with the Chief Engineer team (PMAS, MAS, SQUAD), you will ensure the planning and synchronization of the métier activities and deliverables, and identify and mitigate risks to ensure delivery on time, on quality, on cost, and support the achievement of Major milestones (OTM, EVM, etc.)

* You proactively contribute to the continuous improvement process aimed at strengthening the department's efficiency.



Your activities:

* Defining and maintaining the métier development logic in collaboration with other UMS specialists

* Managing the development of the function and its technologies (e.g., algorithms, ground tools, embedded software)

* Contributing to feasibility studies and avionics system design

* Monitoring the in-service fleet, analyzing fleet data, and providing feedback to customers

* Analyzing system requirements, regulations, and standards

* Identifying interfaces and interactions between subsystems

* Writing functional specifications for systems and equipment

* Managing development activities and ensuring product maturity

* Carrying out certification activities in accordance with the Validation and Verification plan

* Ensuring the technical completeness of the function

* Writing test plans and procedures

* Participating in testing

* Writing technical documents and certification documents

* Planning and managing business activities and deliverables

* Ensure synchronisation of activities to achieve major milestones

* Identify, anticipate and mitigate risks

* Animation of business routines and participation in the escalation process



*Your work environment will require you to use DOORS/RECTIFY (specification), SCADE (development), MANTIS (management), and GIT/SVN (configuration) tools.*

*This role will require you to meet key stakeholders in helicopter design and interact with the department's various departments (systems engineering, data architecture, data analysis, connectivity).*

*In this context, your team-oriented mindset and your communication and cross-functional management skills, along with autonomy and initiative, will be crucial.*

Required skills:

* Master's degree +5 in engineering specializing in systems engineering or equivalent

* You have at least 5 years' experience in a similar or related field

* Knowledge of monitoring and recording systems

* Knowledge of the Design Manager function is appreciated

* Knowledge of embedded software and systems engineering

* Communication and cross-functional management skills

* ability to federate stakeholders and persuasiveness

* Autonomy and initiative

* Basic in project management

* Language skills: English and French
