MD SKILLS, recruitment and assessment consulting firm, is recruiting on behalf of one of its clients a Key Account Manager Europe - bilingual English / German - Steel Industry (M/F).

The role

As part of an experienced sales team, you will contribute to the development of sales across Europe within the steel industry. You will be responsible for both growing existing key accounts and acquiring new customers, in a role combining technical expertise, business development and field presence.

Key responsibilities

Business development

  • Develop and manage an existing portfolio of clients within the European steel industry
  • Prospect and acquire new customers across the European market
  • Drive business development with a strong hunting focus, with approximately two thirds of the role dedicated to new business development and one third to account management
  • Identify project opportunities and develop new business on complex sales cycles

Technical advisory and client relationship management

  • Provide on-site technical advisory services to clients regarding screening components and related technical solutions
  • Maintain a strong field presence with clients across Europe
  • Understand technical needs and recommend suitable solutions
  • Manage complex buying centers involving multiple stakeholders

Quotations, negotiation and closing

  • Prepare commercial offers and quotations
  • Lead contract negotiations
  • Take full ownership of the closing phase
  • Ensure the profitability and smooth execution of the business won

Market analysis and internal coordination

  • Conduct market and competitor analyses
  • Define and implement relevant sales strategies
  • Work closely with inside sales, engineering and product management teams
  • Provide regular reporting to the Head of Sales
  • Represent the company at trade fairs, customer events and industry gatherings

Description du profil

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience within the steel industry
  • Proven experience managing complex sales processes and multi-stakeholder buying centers
  • Strong background in both new business development and key account management
  • Ability to evolve in a technical and industrial environment
  • Full command of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing
  • Fluent German is mandatory
  • Fluent English is mandatory
