**Job Description:**
A vacancy for an *Engine Controls & Monitoring Experimented Engineer* (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.
You will join a team of 40 people in the department Powerplant Engineering in the Research & Development Design Office. We cover all Powerplant Systems related to engine system integration, engine performance, fire protection and engine installation reporting to the Power System department (Powerplant and Electrical systems).

**Your challenges**
This job takes place in an integrated environment around engine activities: close interaction to Engine manufacturer, Chief engineer team, flight tests department, Electrical integration department, Avionics department, production lines, support and services...
Engine is one main component of a helicopter; therefore engine integration and installation are crucial issues for helicopter global performance and operability.Powerplant Engineering team is driving these integration activities by defining control system specification, engine monitoring specification and electrical design.
You will work in close contact to the Engine Supplier and will be responsible for the below activities:
* To define control system specifications toward the Engine Supplier taking into account Design Process Rules, Lessons Learnt and Métier Referential
* To define Engine monitoring principle in accordance with Authorities regulation and in collaboration with the Experimental Flight Test crew
* To define the electrical design for engine integration within the helicopter.
* To write integration test plans and to perform them on test benches, in accordance with System Engineering Methods
* To write Flight Test Orders and to support flight test campaign activities
* To support Certification activities
* To organize all these activities with other members of the team (on site and in another Airbus site)
You will have to drive your activities by working transversally inside Airbus Helicopters. On your project you will be the technical focal point on the described perimeter.
This role will involve some travel for business in France or Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
**Your profile**
* You have an engineering degree ideally in Powerplant propulsion and can justify at least 7 years previous experience in a relevant position.
* You have technical knowledge in electrical integration, automation, system engineering and turboshaft thermodynamics. Some knowledge about Airworthiness Regulation and Hybrid Propulsion is an asset.
* You are rigorous, proactive, and used to working as part of a team. You have communication skills and are able to produce and share synthesis. You are used to applying continuous improvement methods, especially by the means of technical capitalization and establishing métier referential.
* You have a negotiation level in English and are able to easily work in a multi-cultural environment.
* Skills in Microsoft Excel and Visio are required. Matlab / Simulink and Doors experience would be an advantage. English and French negotiation levels are required for this position.
* The SDR Profile Generic description: *
* Identify the activities of the development life cycle that are necessary to develop a system/product to meet regulation and program requirements.
* Define sub-system architecture including functional and physical subsystem components break down as well the related interfaces.
* Specify Subsystem requirements (export control, regulation, safety, environment, functional, performance, electrical, mechanical,...) and allocate requirements to component level and other subsystems.
* Steer an external Work Packages developed by a Supplier & Subcontractor from selection till final delivery.
* Validate and Verify subsystem defined requirements.
* Develop technical leadership in close collaboration between the Engineering and any other disciplines involved throughout the whole sub-system lifecycle.
