The Business Manager will lead the global commercial strategy for the Energy market, overseeing sales, marketing, business development, and application engineering. This role is responsible for developing and executing business plans that drive growth through innovative solutions, while spearheading capture teams to secure new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities include direct oversight of marketing, sales, and application engineering functions, and close collaboration with R&D and production management. The position ensures alignment between product offerings, customer needs, application requirements, and operational capabilities, contributing to the company's market expansion and success.
To carry out your role, you will have a team of 15 people to manage.
The Business Manager has broad overall responsibility for managing both the revenue and the cost elements of the business.
The role has functional responsibility for the commercial, marketing, and application engineering.
The position requires a high degree of management experience in the areas of engineering, finance, sales, marketing and human resources.
Capability to work in a very international and multi-cultural environment with strong interactions with many other SG organisations in particulary in Europe.
The Business unit is accountable for results but operating in a highly global, technical and competitive environment requiring constant adaptation on the day to day operations. The ability to interact with other cultures is essential : the role has a high degree of interactions with multiple other business units as well as functional and country dimensions.
This role requires a high degree of collaboration with operations and R&D to sustain current business and foster growth and new business, introducing or recommending new technologies required to meet customer needs and provide solutions.
The role has a high degree of matrixes reporting as it has shared sites with multiple other business units as well as functional and country dimensions.
Additionally, the flat organization structure of the SBU requires the role to foster collaboration and shape the organization in a highly complex manner and, this way be able to exploit the full potential of speed and agility enabled by this structure.
The position requires therefore significant involvement in transformation activities: reflecting, bringing new ideas for change, implementing, in order to bring the organization ever more in line with the Saint-Gobain's 5 attitudes.

Essential Functions:
Strategy: Develop and implement a vision and strategy for the business in order to meet profit and growth objectives.
Organizational Alignment: Ensure proper alignment of volume allocations of products with applications, markets, operational capabilities, and organizational structure and talent to strengthen market position and competitive advantages that maximize return and profitability of business. Prepare and control departmental budgets, strategic planning, and execute on these plans. Collaborate with product management, operations to evaluate capabilities to support new business and R&D to drive market innovation.
Customers: Ensure the organization continuously improves the relationships with customers throughout their organizations in order to understand the issues in the marketplace and to foster a close linkage from their needs to our capabilities to serve.
People Development: To assure full human resource utilization and development through formal and informal personnel practices, management by objectives, role definition, results expected appraisal and counseling, salary administration and personnel development.
Marketing: Develop a comprehensive marketing roadmap, which includes integrating traditional and digital strategies to enhance brand visibility and drive market growth. Collaborate with the marketing team to identify target markets, customer segments, and key messaging
